P OBS D ???!?!??!?!?!

hi everybody

it has been SOOOOOOOOO LOOONGGGG since i saw people im close to and now im missing everyone. we have been so far yet so close. but weve reunited and i cant wait to go back to school. ok maybe not but IW SCH VIBES BACK.

OBS HAD BEEN TIRING FUN DIFFERENT WORTHWHILE UNFORGETTABLE MAGICAL AND 

if i had a choice i will go back.

i thought obs was gonna be like any other camp but when i went there i realised it really was not. 

i was worried of how the camp would go cos the only person i knew was from my y2 class she was my tablemate too SHES FROM THE BLACK SHOE FAM. but didnt talk much anymore cos diff classes. i was lowkey relieved i had someone i knew. we talked through the bus ride and reached ecc (east coast campus) all of us gathered there in our groups.

the 4 watches who went through the same campsites on the same days as my watch were called BRAVO basically 4 watches were called a mobile

on the first day, my watch was DAMN quiet. to unexplainable levels. no one dared to speak a word. once our instructor (later ill give a backstory of this guy) just left us to come to a consensus on smt and put one of us as leader. guess what happened. he came back after 10 minutes and we did NOT have a consensus. cos why? no one spoke! LOL. sorry i find it funny cos it was the COMPLETE OPPOSITE on the last day. 

we got bento boxes on the first day. they were OKAY. we had chickpea rice egg chicken fish ball veggies fruit cup green tea some lemon tea idk 

but it was okay because

chicken was very meaty + soaked in water? idk what

veggies were watery (they lived up to greenery's high expectations ngl)

lemon tea was highly concentrated and disgustingly sweet

chickpea rice was like smashed dry bland porridge 

egg and fishballs gave it some taste. (THIS is the way to go NOT VEGETABLES)

but at least we got bento boxes that was good. 

i was worried we were gonna have bento boxes for the whole camp but no it was just for the first day's meals and last day's breakfast. wheres the camp experience if theres no cooking right?

heres the backstory my instructors name is PET. pet is SO chill. he isnt the kind who is like damdamdamdamdamdam enthu one. hes like the chill but fun to talk to kinda person. he joined as an obs instructor last june. b4 that he was a p5 camp instructor so he may be q long winded and yappin on sometimes but HE IS ACTUALLY SO NICE AND SO OBSERVANT im so glad we got him as our instructor. he played a big role in breaking the ice within my watch. he knew how things had to be done exactly. he has NEVA scolded us b4 and had always tried to make us be in charge of what we want to do and steps in only when necessary. ive learnt SO MANY things from him. he is very observant. its like ull be able to tell if u talk to him a few times. he out of nowhere calls out people. #thejumpscareisreal but ya cannot imagine having any other instructor cos he is THE ONE AND ONLY for MACRITCHIE. thats my watch's name. its so cute. MACnCHEESE MACdONALDS nopenope 

there is a store at ecc to keep our bags and stuff and the part of the store given to us was named MacRitchie. the group next to us was called ATOMBRO. what kind of name is that. I WAS LAUGHING. is that even how u spell it. when u say it fast its actually really funny. calling a watch atombro is REAL FUNNY. i think i lost my humour bye. i searched it up and the guy is called david attenborough. but when u pronounce it, it sounds nothin like that trust me. 

im just gonna say stuff we did cos i dont remember the flow of events but the things we did YES.

high element rock climbing 

im scared of heights. this is an open declaration. hence uss is not my thing. we can go on teacup rides iyw. its kind of an embarrassment. why am i such a wimp.

SO yes i did NOT reach the top. but it was worth it. i TRIED OK. idk if i OVERcame my fears. but ill not worry about that because ill take it as a blessing instead.

edit: funny incident my watch had someone who's colourblind so when another of my watchmate attempted to guide him in which rock to use to climb, she said "use the green rock" then he said "I AM COLOURBLIND." that was so funny bye

on the second day it was kinda weird between the group also. belaying was so FUN. thats one useful thing i did related to heights. the best thing i could do. pet said i was one of the most reliable belayers. i was SO happy i could be trusted upon someone's dear life. i flew sometimes when belaying and it felt weirdly nice. the anchor pulling u down gives u comfort but u WANT to fly dywim. im waffling again.

we took a dip in the sea. AGAIN idk how to swim so i might not be using complicated terms like butterfly? front stroke? we held eo's arms and went into the sea. people who didnt know how to swim were closer to pet. we went into the sea together. we floated forward and backward and held our breath in the sea for 5 seconds. we were in the sea for only 5 minutes before we left. i think we had very little time. i collected seashells. sally sells seashells on the seashore. bet u stuttered. 

then we hiked to red cross campsite. en xi from ATOMBRO and i did tomato ketch(CATCH)up BYE whenever there were huge gaps. ATOMBRO was our sister group so we hiked tgt. i found it manageable cos all the weight was on my hips not my shoulders nuh uh. loved it 10/10 it started raining but we never gave up never what. got rumour that rccampsite is haunted. we had a briefing but all i could focus on was to try not to sleep. instructors were right behind me and i wanted to be a good kid infront of them. not a gangster. the weather was so nice and SLEEP WAS CALLING like "COME TO ME" then we had dinner we ate white beehoon soaked in water it was really plain luncheon meat and button mushrooms. what's with camps making us eat food soaked in water. we went to shower. saw an insect in the toilet. we went SCREAMING. whatever that was. it looked dangerous poisonous contaminated IDK? we were singing. we were running out of time. we were SUPA CLUMSY and i think the shower at rccampsite was the most CHA-O-TIC. after that we had debrief. we sat in a circle. this is where it all comes in. pet likes to do debrief where no other watch is. he makes it really reflective and intimate and quiet and like a safe space for us to share our thoughts. hes the best. we settled admin matters about the route to BEDOK RESERVOIR. our watchmates and i were getting closer and closer to eo. and more comfortable in our own skin. ITS A PHRASE OK. i can already hear u laughing at my 10 outta 10 vocabulary thanks. 

BEDOK RESERVOIR IS THE BEST. I LOVE IT SO MUCHHCHCCHCHCHCHCHCHHCHCHCHCHCHCHHCHCHCHCHCHHCHCHCH OMG. I CANNOT EXPLAIN BRUH. ITS WHERE THE MAGIC HAPPENED OK. I WANT TO GO BACKKKKK. ILL DO ANYTHING TO GO BACK. 

on our way there we took a break at like a hdb area with playground. we talked to pet OH AND I ALM FORGOT OMG we had OUR HAPPY FOOD it had like milo chrysanthemum cereal AND POCARI sachets 5 packets of oreo 2 types of bread and biscuits UBIN PPL HAD CHOC MUFFIN TOO BUT NO REGRETS IM GLAD I WENT ECC. from what i heard ubin wasnt that bad. they didnt have to poop in a hole. people just assumed the worst. things have changed maybe. 

BUT ANYWAY YA POCARI SWEAT WAS MY BAE through the hikes we went on. it gave me DA WILLPOWER DETERMINATION TENACITY TO KEEP GOING ON. THEN WE PLAYED BANG I WON OMG IM SO GOOD AT IT THEN WE PLAYED CHUCK THE CHICKEN in 2 groups IT WAS REALLY FUNNY WE WON TOO OMYSWJBDWBDJEHBDJB@EHDB@EBD@#IDB it was so fun bruhhhhhh we played in the playground and oh yes pet tried guessing our ccas and HE GOT MINE RIGHT I WAS SO SURPRISED BYE.

he talked about his girlfriend apparently hes girlfriend's an illustrator then she posts her work online. SHES SO COOL. her work is great. he only meets her on weekends. thats really sad. 

he told us queenstown or orchard idk the place exactly the curry rice really good. iw try eh but i forgot the place kill me now. he went pass the rain to get it. everyone says its delilililili 

then we hiked then got to BEDOK RESERVOIR we chilled abit then talked got ready for DRAGON BOATING YAYAYAYYAYAYAYAYAYYAYAYAYAYAYYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYYAYAY we wore our water shoes and sunscreen and gathered for safety briefing. we had a point system. so whoever reaches a certain point in the water faster will get more points and contributed to our overall points. we had a race and we came in third but nobody cares WE ALL HAD SO MUCH FUN. WE SPLASHED WATER onto other watches and our watch also. i drenched my MY ENTIRE WATCH FRONT AND BACK. they were MADMDMDMD. my watchmate sitting next to me kept wiping her glasses BYE. she tried to splash people around her but IN VAIN. it was funny when she took water but all the water went elsewhere but not the targetted people. IT WAS SO FUNNNNNNNNNNN BRUHHSHHSHSSHSHSHS dragon boating taught us the importance of contribution. #neverhadbeensorelatable.

THERE WERE TRAMPOLINES THERE. we played on it for SO LONG nature called me right after.

then we showered. there were mosquitos on the wall but they looked dead. i wouldnt have noticed if i wasnt told about it. the toilets were okay tho. we had dinner from our happy food cos no cooking was allowed. THEN WE TALKED FOR SO LONG there was SUNSET ALSO IT WAS SOSOOSOSOSOSOOSOSOSOOSOSOSOOOOOOOO PRETTTYYYYYYYYYYYYY idt ive ever stared at the sky that long before. it was SO PRETTY GOOD LORD. the clouds were perfect. THE PINK PURPLE BLUE SHADES WERE PERFECT. OH MY GOD. I WOULD HAVE TAKEN A PICTURE IF I HAD MY PHONE WITH ME. my watchmates and i talked about SO MANY THINGS like how the world isnt moving but it actually is but we cant feel ANYTHING. #deepconversationshithard

we had debrief with pet. IT WAS SO NICEEIEIEIEIIE. we drew bedok reservoir on post its. whenever i look at it i get reminded of the time i was there with my watchmates and pet. i hear the waves. i can see the reflection of the buildings in the water. 

then we slept. I WOKE UP AT 11PM thinking IT WAS 5AM or something. I WAS DEVASTATED. i had to survive idk how many more hours till people around me woke up for the big day. OUR HIKE BACK TO ECC. people were talking gossiping SO DAMN LOUD. how to sleep bruh. i tried but i was awake for another 45 minutes hoping someone else will wake up to accompany me to the toilet and chat. BUT NO. I FELT A MOSQUITO ON MY NECK AND I WAS SWEATING SO BADLY LIKE I WAS WOKEN UP BY A NIGHTMARE. that was it. I GOT OUT. COLD AIR HIT ME. I WAS SO RELIEVED. I HAD A MINI SOLO WALKING SESSION. then went to the toilet with my watchmate from another tent who was THANKFULLY awake. we talked abit and returned back. i took a peek into my tent. i couldnt bring myself to enter it. i saw a familiar face from another watch and went to her. they had marshal duty in like another 10 minutes. i sat with them for a while. then her other watchmates came. i went to the toilet again. MY BLADDER ISNT THAT BIG. i went only to accompany HER. turns out BEING MY PARANOID SELF i HAD to go pee again when i saw the toilet. JUST. IN. CASE. YK.

then THEY FELT COOKED UP INSIDE THEIR TENTS TOO. so we put sleeping bags outside and slept. i slept with people from another watch. IT WAS THE BEST SLEEP EVER. IM TELLING U. 100x better. LIVINGTHELIFE. can i tell u guys a secret. I FORGOT TO WAKE UP TO DO MY MARSHAL DUTY. my tentmates DIDNT WAKE ME UP because THEY NEVER KNEW WHERE I WENT. BYE. its okay. NO ONE CAME NEAR OUR CAMPSITE ANYWAY. there was literally NO ONE THERE. wholl be wandering in the middle of the night. cant be u right.

the next day we had a mini challenge. the question was "find the word". and they gave us the letters. the last to get it had to do area sweep

ITS LITERALLY "THEWORD" HOWS THAT A WORD BRO. ITS A PHRASE. MY WATCH WAS THE LAST ONE TO GET IT. BUT ITS FINE we did area sweep and got going

we had to go to as many checkpoints as possible but reach ecc by 1.30. each checkpoints is 100 pts and if u reach b4 1.30 u get 300 pts but every min ur late, 100 pts deducted. we went to 6 outta 10 checkpoints. and reached ecc early. MY WATCHMATE AND I WERE YAPPING ALL THE WAY. WE CLICKED SO WELL TGT WE WERE IN FRONT. I PRIDE MYSELF because WE NEVER GAVE UP. pet asked us riddles too ehejhehdehdehdhedeh

my watch's navigator took history. i took geog. DO U SEE THE IRONY. i was i/c for that day tgt with my other watchmate who took geog. WE WERE CLUELESS. bro was thriving better than us. our job was just to keep track of time and say "KEEP LEFT KEEP RIGHT". OH AND DID I MENTION MY WATCH DOESNT WORK ANYMORE BECAUSE I WORE IT IN THE WATER FOR DRAGON BOATING. i kept track of time for my watch before that but afterwards. I DIDNT ANYMORE. whenever they came to me for the time thinking i had a working watch. I GOT REMINDED OF MY DEAR WATCH it has water bubbles on it now?!?!? i hope it dries up and works again. 

SO the points will help us buy food for our celebration dinner! my last dinner with my watchmates. we bought macaroni potatoes veggies luncheon meat egg mushroom soup corn and condiments THEY WERE ALL FRESH

we put the corn veggies luncheon meat and macaroni into a dish and heated it up. we made scrambled eggs AND YA WE ATE. i ate abit and was so full. didnt really like it that much but I FINISHED THE remaining CORN TINS. they tasted the best. 

then we washed the SOOT OFF the messtins. IT WAS SO SATISFYING TO WASH THEM OFF. it was so nice to see it comin off. apparently the previous macritchie batch cleaned the messtins till very clean. we UPHELD THE STANDARDS YIPEEEEEEEEE pet was happy so he told us he'll help us to put back those stuff wherever it needs to be

we then had our SECOND LAST DEBRIEF

we talked ab our day and he gave us leaf stickers. we had to write affirmation messages to all of our watchmates. we took from 8.45pm to 9.30pm. DONT ASK ME HOW I REMEMBER BECAUSE AFTER THAT WE GATHERED IN A CIRCLE AND STARTED PASTING THEM ON EVERYONE'S OBS BOOKS. IT MEANT SO MUCH TO ME. I WAS SO HAPPY. WE LAUGHED SO MUCH BECAUSE THINGS WE WROTE WERE SO GOOFY. OMSHYGWDGWHJSDQDHWD I LOVE THEM SO MUCHCHCHCHCHCHHCHCHC. one guy wrote "ur funny not because of ur personality but because ur so clueless sometimes i cant even be mad at u" I DIED WHEN I LOOKED AT THAT. GOODBYEYEYYEYE IDEK WHAT TO THINK OF THAT. i swear i wasnt clueless. i think it was that time when i put the knife wrongly when scraping cut veggies from the cutting board into the messtin. he asked me to put the knife the other way round and use the blunt part so the sharpness wouldnt go off. but i never really understood till after a few times. so yes he thinks im dumb now. BUT THEY WERE SOOOOOOO SWEEEETETETTETETETETTETETETETTETETETT I WILL LOOK AT THEM EVERYDAY.

THEN THAT DAY WE GOT TO SLEEP IN A HUT. it had 2 platforms. the huts were named after planets. we slept in MARS. IT HAS 2 FANS. IT WAS SO NICE. we played heart attack b4 going to sleep. I HAD A GOOD SLEEEEEPPP. I WAS SO SAD WE HAD TO LEAVE THE NEXT DAY. no way it was ending already. NO WAY!!!!!!!!!

we then did morning stuff packed our bags. i ate cereal. plain cereal. do u put cereal first or milk first.

ANYWAY ya i ate cereal with tortilla wrap and raisins. strange combi tasted funny. WE HAD OUR LAST DEBRIEF SESSION AT HUT SATURN. we had to talk solo infront of our watch ab one key takeaway and and how we will apply it. I LOWKEY MADE IT AN EMO SPEECH. then we have 1 min for questions. we just stand there smile and answer if got any questions. pet gave me feedback for how i had been for the past few days and assured me that i have been doing well. HE WAS SO SWEET BRUH then a guy asked me if i did yoga.

NO I DONT. ok good news is i tried for one week? then i gave up.

just because im yoga doesnt mean i NEED to know how to do yoga. BYE IT FEELS ODD TO SAY MY OWN NAME. 

we then gave eo our obs completion certs. it felt more meaningful then receiving them from a person from higher authority because no one cares who mr person with higher authority is they only care if people who mean lots to them give it to them and thats exactly what pet did. he made us give eo our certs. his decision making skills better than mine.

edit: my watchmate lost her streak in duolingo. i quit duolingo A LONG LONG TIME AGO. i aint got the patience.

i will say it again. i love my watchmates. to extents. I THINKKKK WE ARE MEETING UP I CANT WAIT
