gastric pain
hi hello!
yes you read the title, clicked on this blog. today i talks about gastric pain. it's my second time getting gastric pain and its way worse than my first one. and today i'm talkin' about my first time getting gastric pain
imma give you some background if ya dunno what gastric pain is. gastric is the short form of gastroenteritis, and is essentially a discomfort in the abdomen (mainly the stomach) and there are so many causes for it like your body just killing itself by attacking the stomach, bacterial infections in the stomach, aLcOhOl UsE, and stress.
so the day i went to school was the day i learnt the meaning of true agony. i woke up feeling normal, then had a sandwich (nutella and bread) for my breakfast. then i had this small cramp-like feeling in my stomach. i thought that maybe i had gotten my period but i checked for blood and no. it wasnt that. i thought maybe it was just a mild stomach ache, so i just brushed it off, took a ginger tablet and just left for school.
but lunch was where it all went horrible. i felt the same cramps, but it was worse. WAY WORSE. i thought that maybe it was just bloatedness or constipation??? nah. during PE i was feeling tremendously light headed that i actually couldn't focus during the game we were playing. the pain was making me go numb during the game but my brain was spamming "no. you can't go back home just 10 minutes before school ends. no. keep up sis."
ten minutes later the bell rings, i get dismissed, my mom picks me up from school.
in the car. i. was. pale. like i-had-not-been-getting-sleep-for-the-past-10-days pale. my mom noticed this and asked me what happened, and being the casual desi kid always knowing that the cause for any illness is my phone, i lied saying "oh its nothing i think im just bloated because i didn't bring pocket money to school and i had to ration my lunchbox food". and as you probably would've guessed, my mom was pissed. then i ignored it. AGAIN.
but at home i was in the toilet, and there was this agonizing pain in my stomach that i literally couldn't stand up straight. so that was when i realised something was wrong. i told my mom that my stomach was hurting badly and i literally had to drag her to the clinic. so at the clinic the doctor said she could feel some tenderness around my abdominal area and it was definitely not bloating. so she diagnosed me with gastroenteritis and gave me some medicine to ease the pain, after which she sent me home with a strict reminder to rest in bed for 3 whole days.
so not only was there gastric pain, there are also... bed sores so you might not have the chance to get one of these horrible sores, since it only comes when you have to lie in bed for more than a few hours or one day. bed sores generally appear in the places where your body is in contact with the bed for long periods of time, and i tell you they HURT. you know gravity pulls you down onto the bed right? so the contact points will eventually start to hurt, making them very sore. so my body was in this state of constant agony for three straight days-
so along with gastric pain, there is also nausea. and we ain't talking about casual motion sickness or slight nausea. my nausea hit DIFFERENT. like the only thing i wanted was for someone to ram me against a wall, probably end my misery. don't even get me started on how painful it was whenever i ate. it was as if i was eating some food, but halfway down my gullet it turns into hot coals and stays inside my stomach for 3-4 hours. i had to replace normal water with coconut water and buttermilk to cool off the acids in my body and holy cow it was miserable.
the sad thing was that i coudn't walk without bending over (and wanting to hit my head, collapse and banish the gastric pain outta me) the pain lasted for 10 days and i could've sworn i lost 4-5 kg. eventually i could eat without feeling like my stomach was being burnt up into ashes. and even though no one (even the doctor) didn't know the cause of my gastric pain, i just knew this was going to happen again. around 2 weeks later i found out i have a very sensitive stomach that will react IMMEDIATELY after i eat anything too oily or too spicy.
so for those of you who did not have gastric pain till now, appreciate the freedom while you can. because once it starts, it's never going to be cured completely. so uh yea eat properly guys bye bye
