G-OO-D-J-O-B GOOD JOB! GOOD JOB PERSEPHONE! (×2)
helloooo ATC is over and i just saw Ma’am Aswatha’s blog, SHES SO SWEET sorry i never read before Camp LOL but we tried our best, Ma’am Aswatha ๐๐๐๐๐ i also nearly teared up by looked at the line, “we are silently cheering you on” by our NCOS’ message, like I WANTED THEM THERE WITH US DURING ATC :( ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ we missed you sososo much! IM NOT KIDDING ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ i feel okay about ATC and honestly we had lower expectations of the toilets (like spiders crawling and insects everywhere but there werent actually, it was q clean _ we saw a few lizards but they are harmless ahahha (varshini wherere arrreeee yoooouuu) and how it would be like there and I would say we that before the camp we were ready for whatever that was gonna come. before i go on to camp, we met each other at around 8am-10am at the Timber Deck doing last min touch ups, labelling and all then gathered at the foyer at 10.. our two CIs Ma'am Naika and Ma'am Vedha were there, they did bag check and we took the bus to the changi village place, the trip there was unforgettable. we got to bond w our squadmates and we had a great time w one another. we laughed we smiled we shared memories, Ma'am Vedha and Ma'am Naika were with us all along, providing us with tips and advice and instructions for the camp, they were so sweet, they taught us the whistle codes and how to do Roll Call, we had lunch at hawker centre i had 2 egg pratas and fish curry :OO moving on we had the boat ride it was so fun altho it was only for like 15 min or so. we took q a number of pictures (okay maybe a few, better than nothing right, but we talked!), yes and we reached pulao ubin, thats when surprise surprise we met our fellow areamates. they looked unfamiliar i mean ofc they would. then we queued up in two rows and we hiked up to the NPCC Campsite Nordin (is the spelling right) we cheered all the way and one cute little dog followed us like for half the hike, it was so cute as if it was leading the way (syaizah and i were super scared, what if it bites bro - it went zigzag every so often?? is it protecting itself from wildboars?? omg WAS IT very smart sia) the hike was overall very tiring but we somehow bonded but not really with our area mates. we then reached the campsite, the entrance took my breath away, it was sososososo cool! like actually bro, then we sat down in our own Units, had bag check and refilled our bottles. our volume was q high. we realised that other Units had different ways of commanding for example instead of saying "permission to... 2", one of the schools said "up 2 3". i personally felt that that was a really good way to get everyone to concentrate and know what was going on. this would also ensure that everyone doesnt rely on solely one person for everything. however, this led to mistakes happening and the lack of coordination among themselves. as we carried on w camp and got into our tent and ATC groups, we got to know each of out groupmates better and played games. the games played a huge role in us bonding and knowing each others' names. and I CANT NOT SAY THIS: some of our areamates were extremely nice and i was really glad to have them there with me, like i would have never expected the boys to talk to us but some of them actually came up to us and spoke to us w/o judging or anything and i felt so happy. i instantly was really really hmm like VERY HAPPY LAH i love all of them. we pitched our tents and had dinner - bharathi and i ate noodles and one delicious lemon puff each bc we didnt know if we would have liked the canned food (wait i tried a bit of the mushrooms IT WAS DELICIOUS AS ALWAYS), i wanted to try the lychees but its fine! one of my groupmates ate lemon pie with tuna?? woah idk how it tasted like bcs i never try bro, but they seemed to like it very much (questionable sia). Oh then we had missing mass tins and stoves :( we did not take note of the total number of missing Logistics. we did not take accountability for them and they advised us to not do so again. oh i forgot to mention that i saw an ant carrying biscuit bits which fell on the floor, it was cute LOL heh then we had wash up where we had around 1 hour to shower. the girls bathroom was very packed when I went in since i took like one eternity JKJK to find my toiletries, HQ T-shirt and Tracks and Socks. Claire tagged along w me and we went to the toilet to see so many people waiting already. ppl with long hair and ppl with many different bathing routines, some people did not wash their hair which was good (save time) but bad (sweaty hair, can get sick) at the same time. AND GUESS WHAT WAS WORSE i frigging forgot to bring my towel I INTERNALLY SCREAMED if i went back to the tent, we would definitely exceed timing bc of me like definitely definitely, i needed to brush my teeth too, so i took me a great leap of faith to ask syaizah who was standing beside me if she could lend me her towel altho it was VERY VERY UNHYGENIC idek why im saying this but i think yall should know ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ AND SYAIZAH WAS SO NICE TO ACTUALLY LEND ME shes sweet. i anyhow washed my hair and showered idek what i did but ik i showered, the water seemed to drip continuously even after wiping w the towel and there was NO LITERALLY NO TIME LEFT, i needed to get out, so i put on my undergarments, Tracks and Shirt on my wet body (apologies for detailed explanation) and STRODE OUT TO MY TENT to get my water bottle and Fall In at the Canteen with my groupmates. i think that the girls toilet was better because the boys had 2-3 closed toilets and the rest were open so they had to rush and manage their time well. so yeah i was grateful it wasnt the same for us yeah (one of our GIs told us that last time there used to be twice the number of people in camp and half the amt of time given to us to shower and THEY MADE IT (thats actually so cool) OMG im gonna drift out of topic for one sec, my brother is buying me snow mountain double chocolate milk with pearls for me from liho, OMGOMGOMG i cant wait i love him sm! anywassyysy back to the point, yeah we then had some bonding games and one of them was the snake game, I WOULD SAY THAT THAT WAS THE FUNNIEST AND ONE OF THE MOST FUN PARTS OF CAMP i LAUGHED MY HEART OUT we HUGGED EACH OTHER A LOT DURING THE GAME LOL IT WAS VERY FUNNY, we GOT SQUISHED UP A LOT AND HONESTLY THAT WAS THE MOST FUN PART OF IT, we all almost FELL DOWN ON TOP OF EACH OTHER, it was just AHHHH SO LIKE UNFORGETTABLE AND A HAPPY MEMORY, i want to relive the moment but i cant, its over now:( i want to linger here mhm hmm a little longer here mhm hmm a little longer here with youuu ahh i feel emo now anyways moooovinnngg onnnn we went to sleep if im not wrong, it was SUPER DUPER VERY VERY STUFFY the flaps were closed, all zips were closed, mosquitos trapped in insects trapped in … yes you alr know what it is, CANNOT SLEEP WELL SIA. i woke up every hour, once at 1.10am thinking its 5am already?? once at 2.40am, once at 3am, once at 3.15am, once at 3.45 am, once at 4.30 am, once at 5am, once at 5.20am and thats it cause after that we went to get our brushes and toothpaste and face wash ready for wash up at 6am(lights on)-630am, during one of the times i woke up in the middle of the night, i caught claire staring at me and i was like what, then she said she needed to go toilet, so we went, then Ma’am Naika followed us, after that when we came back, our groupmates told us that we left the zips open, LOL then sandflies entered LOL (our CIs told us later on that a huge bug entered our tent they tried to get it our but our groupmates were sleeping so they didnt want to disturb them LOL - and that was when we left the zips open when we went to the toilet LOL and the sandflies were aka the HUGE BUG which was ahem ahem stinging them LOL) and confession: i combed my hair and removed knots in my hair in the middle of the night (claire asked me to not my fault right) my groupmates called me a ghost ahahahahaha anyways, claire said one of my groupmates snored and talked while sleeping, i heard asmita slept like a bear AHAHHA i heard amrutha spoke while sleeping, i heard asmita kicked everyone in the tent lol, AND I DID TOO, en xi told me, very embarrassing ahahha. I looked super oily and very tired and my hair looked so out of place I FRENCH BRAIDED IT OKAYY yes then we had breakfast then we had Low Ropes Course i was scared for some of them but persevered through with my groupmates and my areamates from another group, i held their hands (blushing emojis: ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐๐) i love them, they cheered me on like so cute bro, “nice one”, “go yoga, you can do this”, “its really not that hard”, “dw you wont fall”, “we have spotted you on both sides we are right here you WONT FALL, believe in yourself”, even though i took a bit more time than the rest, they did were there for me and always JUST THERE FOR ME, that was enough I LOVE THEM. their encouragement gave it all away! :)) then we were supposed to have Land Expedition but since we had Cat 1 (i think this is how its spelled) aka lightning alert, we lad to learn about Acquisition of Food and Water instead, we then played some games for the rest of the time, bonded with our groupmates and areamates more! :) then we then practiced cheers then had campfire prep then campfire. CAMPFIRE WAS SO NICE IT WAS ONE OF THE BEST PARTS OF CAMP! The cheers were so good and high and i did the friendship dance with my SOME OF MY AREAMATES SQUADMATES AND MA’AM NAIKA AND MA’AM KARINA ๐๐ AHH SO SWEET I LOVED THE FRIENDSHIP DANCE THE MOST FOLLOWED BY THE THOUSAND LEGGED WORM CHEER THEN PEACE BY THE RIVER THEN the rest :)) all the cedar girls gathered with other areamates and did peace by the river in 3 speeds it was so cute AHHHH we ended up giggling and laughing so funn then OMG the theme for this years atc was ELEMENTAL and my group was called the WADE RIPPLE (water element) our skit was the bubble guppies first part then we introduced ourselves then we sang how far ill go from the movie, moana and then did the chicken dance we went around the campfire doing chicken dance and asked the rest to follow along and they did AHHHA, all the other groups’ skits were very heart touching as well, one of the groups sang dandelions and it was just so sweet and peaceful, bharathi and i sang along :)) the fire looked like dandelions and the feel was just godly different :)))) so real yknow it was perfect literally. one of the groups sang what makes you beautiful, it was very nice too! all groups tried their best and that was what mattered most. One of the CIs (first aid CI) said “shake ur asses off” for the “my side” cheer (OH I LOVE THIS CHEER TOO) and i was caught off guard, i did not expect him to say that LOL, 2 male CIs confessed their love for one another (joke lah joke lah) very funny, camp ended with Linger, i didnt want to leave. :( we returned back to the canteens and had group Debriefs and Unit Debriefs. One funny thing happened too, during one of the group meetings we had with our CIs, one of my groupmates shouted after seeing a spider, he was frozen and scared for his life,, “SPIDER SPIDER SPIDER” and when Ma’ams were still looking and asked him to flick it off, he said “MA’AM IM SCARED MA’AM IT”S SO BIG MA’AM” and then when they just saw him, he said, “MA’AM SPIDER MA’AM” then Ma’am Naika quickly got up then helped him out. IT WAS SO FUNNY EVERYONE STARTED LAUGHING, my groupmates were so goofy and i loved them so much at the same time. anyways we went to have wash up, eh we had wash up before campfire but anyways ill say what happened during washup, we went there, i forgot to bring my brush to i uhm uhm brushed my teeth with ahem my hands yes it isnt that bad yes and en xi lent me her slippers altho on day 1 i went w/o them, i thankfully didnt forget my towel phew. and yeah it went fine. Group debrief went better, our CIs said we improved and asked us to set goals and take more initiative to command for the whole Area. Ma’am Karina said that she liked the Persephone in ATC more, i didnt know what she meant but i assume she meant we are doing better at Camp? yeah then we went to sleep, i somehow slept better and did not WAKE UP EVEN ONCE, i think its because they said we could open the flaps for it to be more ventilated and i also removed my socks and track pants' zipS THE BOTTOM OF MY LEGS SO ITCHY SIA, and everyone of us slept well, that we forgot to set alarms and our areamates from other groups had to wake us up, i thought it was our CIs waking us up and i got so scared bcs some of them had white tshirts too, i was so relieved, and then we got up then we went to the toilets to wash up then all went fine. I looked q oily and i tied my hair into a ponytail bc no time! we had breakfast (lemon puffs for me) and it all went better than day 1 and 2. we had area clean up (i felt that it was more exhausting than anything else we did, i was so thirsty after it was over, i washed away lychee trails, picked up litter from the canteen and foyer, and cleared the drains w water! yeah then we had Flag Lowering, we basically had Flag Raising and Flag Lowering everyday yeah then we said our last goodbyes after like group bonding then hiked down to the boat checkpoint area, we separated from our areamates ๐ฃ๐ฃ๐ฃ we somehow reached 1 hour early so we got to have lunch again at the hawker centre, ahh i bought thai fried rice very full they give so much rice, then bharathi gave me some of her wife: milo, then syaizah gave me a bite of prata, then the vegetarian bubs gave me some chips and a slice of cheesy custard bread ๐ต๐ต which bharathi and i shared, and I WAS MORE THAN FULL! ahhh yeahh we went back, thanked Ma’am Karina, and our Camp’s CIs. then got on our bus. It felt like HEAVEN. The seats were so soft, so clean so jumpy, so squishy, IT FELT SO GOOD WITH THE COOLING AIR OMG best feeling ever. We went back to school while catching up with our squadmates on what happened, shared funny things and side comments that we never got the chance or time to share w them during the camp during that around 45 min ride back to school. When we went back to school, the air felt different. different, the stress flooding back in. SCHOOL AHH idwww we spoke in school for a while and then departed, i went home w sam and that was it. I came back home spoke w my parents, showered for 30 mins scrubbed my face like so many times and i felt so CLEAN AND LIKE A QUEEN. I put on lip balm on my dry lips and ahh i went to eat my tofu fried rice that my mum made, it was sososo good, i went to take a nap and yeah it was nice. I unpacked my things and im now writing this blog after dinner. It all feels new my brother looks different idk and guess what my brother didnt have time to buy my liho drink bcs my dad was waiting to pick him up :( and it was rushing urgh as always WAIT OMG HE JUST CAME AND HE SAID HE WANTED TO LOOK AT MY REACTION๐ฎ๐ฎ, i was mad at him for not telling me earlier bcs i ate a small amount for dinner, i still love him ahahaahhah :) yeah i kind of narrated the whole thing but theres ofc so much more i very tired alr leh, i took 3 hours to type this out ๐ง๐ง:( need to go revise. goodbye bubsies!!

overall ATC WAS BITTERSWEET BUT IT WAS WORTHWHILE! we learnt to be grateful for whatever we have and to always never take anything for granted! it has taught us many things, taking accountability for our actions, taking responsibility for our things, looking out for one another, not leaving anyone alone, and yeah just being thankful for what God has provided us with! communication teamwork respect one for all, all for one >>> we have improved alot and I hope we can show that to our NCOs during upcoming Parades after eoys! ๐๐๐ we can do this, we have the potential and capability! ๐ฅณ๐ฅณ๐๐
