post-ATC (taylor's ver)
just kidding it's π«'s version!
the one thing Ma'ams told us to do and we didn't do it let's just die guys
BUT I'M GLAD WE'RE OUT OF THE WOODS
my thoughts and feelings about ATC (please don't hate on me if there are negative things):
day 1: umm 'twas fun till the hike because like i get it we cheer and stuffs but i would enjoy a peaceful hike more than cheers cause i love nature and the sounds of cicada, the rustling of leaves and the echoes of the birds chirping. but sure cheers were fun! and the roll call... omg deja vu cause it was exactly how we did roll call in AC last year. oh and we pitched out own tents!!!!! gonna cry it was harder than it looked like when our NCOs did it to teach us. it was very stinky inside because duh people have used it before. OH AND WE HAD TO CHANGE TENTS WHAT because our poles were damaged -cries- mixing with people from other schools were fine but i liked our squad better. also wah can cedar do smth to their uniform what do you mean we are minions and cheddar cheese. then dinner umm... sigh why so much food and also i had no appetite (no not because of the maggi) but because it was camp and all i wanted to do was to get the job done i don't care if i'm starving or not i'd rather have that than exceed deadlines. but sure i ate, and as expected we exceeded deadlines. then wash up oh my heavens can i not i'm just happy that my dry shampoo helped a lot π so technically i did shower just not a clean as i do at home sigh. though the toilet was cleaner than i expected it to be i thought there'd be 34872934 different types of species of insects crawling across the floor while i jump about in hopes that i'd be able to go against gravity and be airbone and shower like a peaceful bubble detached from the ground. then it was games. hahah it was fun lah then debrief and debrief and unit debrief. then sleep don't even start i woke up at 2 due to the heat and stayed awake until lights on at 6.
day 2: ok. breakfast was ok lunch was ok dinner was ok hahahaha no. we did better? but obv room for improvement as always. whoo! we did PT, omg other schs count 1000 2000 3000 4000... but cedar counts 1, 2, 3... cedar NP is special π― [omg i forgot what happened next] RIGHT LOW ROPES ELEMENT WAS FUN IT WAS LIKE PLAYING IN THE PLAYGROUND MY CHILDHOOD WAS THERE FOR THAT SHORT PERIOD OF TIME! i remb lunch we lost mass tins but i knew that it was a higher-up who took them when them was left unattended because 1) which monkey in their right mind would casually steal a mass tin? eat it? 2) if there were monkeys our CIs and TOs would have been on guard lols. so yes i knew a higher-up took it because it happened in Cedar NP before who is to say it won't happen in ATC? i think i told someone but he/she didn't believe it help- and also i didn't want to jump to conclusions w/o evidence. this reflected our lack of accountability for our own belongings/things that were trusted to us. so they were confiscated and i came up with so many solutions to claim them back THEY WERE ALL REJECTED i was on the verge of crying but i'm glad i overcame it. then it was supposed to be Land Expedition but lightning alert. omg goofy ahh they say it's CAT 1 status then it reminded me of taylor swift MY 2ND DAY WITHOUT HER IS LIKE- LIKE- like i could just jump into the changi jetty and stay buried there with my family's ashes thrown into there. so we played games! the boys you goofy ahh tsk tsk. the games were like from AC last year so all was well! then we revised cheers ooh there are variations glad i got used to it. there were new cheers learnt glad i learnt them fast. then dinner. i want to cry i'm rlly not hungry all i wanted was my mom's weird food combo. but sure i ate! and we discussed the last arrangements of our campfire performance ahhhhh. i had half the mind to just throw in our AC dance from last year and when we got back to school we apologise to our Sec 3 Ma'ams for a 'copyright infringement'. but my group sang that moana song yippie! then wash up ah again. bro i brought my slippers from home then forget to bring to washroom so it stayed in that plastic bag in the tent, right where i left it. campfire prep (i think in cedar we called it Advanced Party haha) happened then campfire. i think my standards were a bit high? i had expected marshmallows but it was fun! cheers and stuff. also TO Sir very funny put in airpod hahahahahah lols we made sure our sounds penetrated the earbuds!! πΏπΏ then sleep time i slept nicely but only because i removed my socks and track pants zip and rolled up my track pants and all the tent flaps were open! so it was cooler and more ventilated. oh ya i woke up in the middle of the night once and found out one of my groupmates snore???? HELP- SHE ALSO SLEEP TALKS and the first word that came out of her mouth was um... very very questionable.
day 3: LAST DAY 7 MORE HOURS TILL I SEE MY MUMMY AND DADDY. i couldn't rlly wake up ahhh. we woke up, i brushed teeth. i couldn't breathe cause my blocked nose got worse and if i can't blow it out, i sniff it in to cause a back flow in hopes my airway clears. my ezcema got a lot worse so i took medicine and had to sit out. i think everyone in my tent caught my virus :0 sorry tentmates... it was tent unpitching we did not have a sense of urgency and accountability which led to exceeding deadlines and missing logistics. then it was area clean-up i sat out and my nose got better - one nostril was unblocked - but before i could say i wanted to help out everything was done...? then it was umm taking pictures oh well so many minions cause why? WE'RE BONDED. no but i think it's because we're too squeezy to move to other places lolsies. camp ended on a good note and we hiked down. hahahahha the moment we all waited for came: leading cheers. WHAT WE HAVE NO CHEERS WE RLLY DID NOT- and also i was rlly tired and wanted to enjoy nature. ended up we learnt cheers yay! >< then when i saw the jetty i was that desperate (our CI made us sing home by kit chan hahahaha CAUSE WHY NOT MAINLAND SINGAPORE IS HOME)
i got back to changi jetty and changi village and the air, the land my home. and we had like an hour to spare so we ate lunch. FOOD, CHICKEN RICE, DRINK, ICE LEMON TEA. IT WAS FOOD THAT I ATE. omg i rlly enjoyed the lunch because i was extremely hungry. but then i felt really full. and then our dear bharathi divorced with water (Ma'ams seeing this blog if you don't get it here's the explanation: during Water Parades we have a water cheer and there's a line that goes 'water is my wife') and married a new drink - her first love, milo dinosaur. then she had mistresses like chicken rice and cheese sticks. and then i called my mom but turns out she was in a meeting so my sister picked up. guess what she said? "jiejie (meaning sister in chinese) i took you laptop btw, also papa got covid" then she hung up. that rude brat needs to learn a lesson. so when i went home, i slapped her and gave her the smell of pulau ubin. then i had a 1hour shower ahhhh hot water, expensive soap. AND BLASTED TAYLOR SWIFT. and my mom was rlly nice i think she went to get more body wash specially for ezcema-prone skin cause i saw a few bottles. she knew my skin condition would get worse hahahah. then i went to have a 5 hour nap and woke up OMG SHE COOKED KIMCHI SOUP AND BOUGHT SUSHI. i didn't care how full i was i just ate them all and talked to her. then she fell sick NOOOOOO so here i am blogging about my 3 days hahaha.
honestly speaking? ATC was not as bad as I expected it to be. we learnt more on why we should have a sense of accountability more because people could just take your things anytime. also i hope that even if it's not area-based, we still uphold standards and be more initiative! i think my group was rlly good and at least there were proper boys who looked mature enough πͺ my standards are not even that high- i think while we did learn to have a sense of accountability and a better sense of urgency, what we took away more was to be grateful. grateful that we have parents taking care of us (although we can't rely on them for the rest of our lives), grateful that we have a bed, a pillow to sleep on, grateful that i always have people looking out for me (family and squadmates and friends), grateful that fans and aircons exist, grateful to have nice coffee and good food to eat and drink everyday!
the aftermath was horrid because both my parents are sick and SONG HYE KYO CAME TO SINGAPORE (with cha eun woo) AND I MISSED IT WHAT????????? WHAT?????
our dear people and squadmates who left halfway or is sick please rest well and get well soon and for why you're even reading this and not resting get lost to your beds and sleep please it was exhausting.
also thank you Euphrosyne Ma'ams for cheering us on! i saw your blog thank you so much! and we apologise for not holding up and standards... hahahah ππͺπ«
OFC THE BOYS_ THEY ARE A CRAZY BUNCH
